Book Soundtrack

Protagonist
Yo-Yo Ma---   Moses and Marco Polo Suite
This song describes the protagonist "   " well because of her love for classical music. She also played the cello and maintained a very strong connection with it. She actually loved Yo-Yo Ma and once her boyfriend took her to see him in concert. The elegance of the piece describes the simplicity and yet majesty of the combination of the instruments.

Climax
Eric Whitacre--- A Boy and a Girl
The song "A Boy and a Girl" tells a story about one boy loving a girl and all their feelings. The beautiful description of their journey through love paints one magnificent portrait. I chose this song just for that simple reason. The climax had to deal with Adam and Mia, and it perfectly depicts them in a romantic state of mind.

Theme
I Won't Give Up--- Jason Mraz
Mia and her love of all that she holds dear is scattered. Her immediate family dies and she is on the brink. The moment the rest of her family tells her they love her and Adam comes she realizes they won't give up on her. Adam especially brought unwavering love to Mia and I believe that throughout this entire book the song "I Won't Give Up" shows the heart of the book.

Random Scene
I Am Not Yours--- Z Randall Stroope
The flashbacks to when Mia and Adam would go out on dates and he would watch her in school and take her places is described perfectly by the song "I Am Not Yours". It speaks poetry into the hearts of anyone and it demonstrates love at its finest. I think that  the tranquil nature and also sensational tone can captivate anyone. It truly shows the love in these parts of the book.

Random Scene
I Will Remember You---- Sarah Mclachlan
This song has to do with the part of the book when Mia is in the hospital bed. She has her family come visit her and tell each talk to her. They all really say the same thing really, and that is even if she chooses to die they will always remember her. I believe this song ties in strongly to this.

With your opening song, you also could have talked about the hint of sadness in the beginning that mirrors the sadness that Mia feels after the loss of her parents. But the song turns upbeat just as she does later in the story. The piece was well selected though. Quiet appropriate.
Your climax song seems to show the longing that these characters have for each other, as well as an almost heavenly feel. It's a beautiful song and I can understand why you selected it.
Theme song - I knew this would make an appearance in your soundtrack somewhere! :) And I think it's a perfect choice for this book.
