10 smartphone habits you should avoid
By Andrea Bartz and Brenna Ehrlich
"That's right, we're talking about how annoying and rude and antisocial we've all become with our smartphones and tablets. As CNN investigates all the ways mobile devices are changing our lives."
I believe this statement has is too overreactive. First off, anyone can be annoying and rude whether or not they have a smartphone! Our emotions make sure that we feel every possible emotion so we're bound to show them eventually. Secondly, people have a number of reasons they are antisocial. Some people are bullied and don't want to be put in that situation. Others could have trust issues, depressed, hateful, anything can play a part in antisocial behavior. As for investigating the changes in our lives, why not look at the positives. More parts of the world are now connected and people can tell their stories instead of being in the dark and having to travel through their adversities alone. Technology has brought people closer to their lost family members and loved ones as well. Trying to judge the malevolent nature of smartphones without any regard for the lighter side of things can be a bit "annoying" and "rude" don't you think?!
I don't think it's just smartphones, it could be any phone or object that make people rude. They're too stuck up.. But I do agree about the antisocial part. I can be antisocial but it's not because I have a smartphone.. I do have a smartphone but its stupid and I hate it.
ReplyDeleteDo you also think that the impersonal nature of technology means that people can be mean to others knowing that they may never have to see the other person? How easy is it to say hurtful things when you don't have to see the look on the other person's face? Would people be nicer to each other if they HAD to say everything face-to-face instead of over Facebook, texting or Twitter?
ReplyDeleteI agree with your point of view, however if these people are bullied, depressed, etc ect, why would they have a smartphone in the first place? Only social people should have smartphones, if you have it just to play games, get an Xbox, or a play station. Therefore, I agree with why people are antisocial, but extremely disagree with your response to this topic.
